Obituary of Michael Crenshaw

Funeral services for Michael Crenshaw, age 69, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Church of Christ with Bro. Ricky Murphy and Bro. Allan Daniel officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Monday, November 29, 2021.  Mr. Crenshaw will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Tuesday.

Mr. Crenshaw passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Sheila Crenshaw of Woodland; two daughters, Amanda Gosdin (Kevin) and Tonya Watts (Michael), both of Woodland; six grandchildren, Tyler Gosdin, Alyssa Gosdin, Kaden Gosdin, Brayden Watts, Avery Watts, and Emilee Watts; and two brothers, Daryl Crenshaw (Lauree) of Roanoke and Keith Crenshaw (Christy) of Franklin, GA.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Gosdin, Kaden Gosdin, Daryl Crenshaw, Wesley Crenshaw, Keith Crenshaw, and Steve Sears. Brayden Watts will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A lifelong Woodland resident, Mr. Crenshaw was born on September 13, 1952, the son of Dane and Carolyn Messer Crenshaw.  He was a member of Mt. Carmel Church of Christ and worked as a mechanic for Andy Bailey and Marlon Stewart and was a member of the Woodland Community Club Lake.  Mr. Crenshaw was also a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict.  He enjoyed playing dominos and going fishing, especially with his brother and grandson and loved his family and Alabama football.  Mr. Crenshaw was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Randy Crenshaw.
