Funeral services for John Campos, Jr., age 81, of Woodland will be held on Friday, December 24, 2021, at 12:00 noon at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Tim Callaway officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Alexander City.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Campos passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Campos of Woodland; four daughters, Maria Campos of California, Liesa Garza of Opelika, Natalie Stewart (Robin) of Woodland, and Wendy Ware (Michael) of Woodland; one son, Jonathan Campos of Opelika; 22 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Campos, Jonathan Ennis, Jonathan Ennis, Jr., Kaleb Ennis, Tyler Phillips, and Trey Ennis.  Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Davidson and Wayne Johnson.

A California native, Mr. Campos was born on December 27, 1939, the son of John and Luz Campos.  He was a United States Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict.  Mr. Campos was a member of Stillwater Baptist Church in Dadeville, Alabama, and worked as a security guard for Southern Union State Community College before retiring.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, two daughters, and two brothers.
