Obituary of Barbara Jean Gentry

Graveside services for Barbara Jean Gentry, age 59, of Ohatchee will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Green’s Chapel Cemetery on County Road 36 in Heflin, Alabama, with Bro. Doug Sheppard officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:30 PM on Friday before services begin.

Ms. Gentry passed away Monday, March 21, 2022, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Alabama.

Survivors include: one sister, Evelyn Smith of Heflin; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gary and Deanie Fordham of Oxford.

A Birmingham native, Ms. Gentry was born on August 16, 1962, the daughter of Woodrow and Lou Holt Gentry.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roger Holt and Ivey Gentry; and sister, Dale Brown.
