Obituary of Carrie Bell Lane

Funeral services for Carrie Bell Lane, age 74, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, April 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Ware officiating.  Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Old Mountain Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Ms. Lane passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at her home.

Survivors include her nieces, Janie Robertson (Michael) of Gadsden, AL, and Terri Sims of Wedowee, and a nephew, Norris Lane (Lucindy), of Carrollton, GA.

A Wedowee native, Ms. Lane was born on April 3, 1948, the daughter of Amos and Zola Streets Lane.  She was Baptist by faith and worked as a caregiver. Ms. Lane was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sara Brown and husband Willie Brown; and one brother, Charlie Lane.
