Obituary of Alden Lee Hunt

Funeral services for Alden Lee Hunt, age 83, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Matt Browning officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM before services begin on Friday.

Mr. Hunt passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Hunt of Roanoke; two sons, Chris Hunt (Julie) of Newnan and Thomas Haynes (Amelia) of Roanoke; one daughter, Tammy Rhea Sims (Tommy) of Lafayette; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Linda Larrick of Pleasant Valley, NY.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Haynes, Tommy Sims, Tommy Haynes, Chris Haynes, Ricky Neff, Tyler Watts, and Ryan Neff.

A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Hunt was born on February 15, 1939, the son of Alden G. and Wanda M. Seuger Hunt.  He worked as a mechanic for America West Airlines before retiring and was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church.  Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rob Hunt; and a stepdaughter, Rhonda Neff.
