Obituary of David B Mitchell

Funeral services for David B. Mitchell, age 67, of Wedowee will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Claude Bennett and Rev. Josh Kennedy officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Grove Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Mr. Mitchell passed away Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia.

Survivors include his three brothers, Basil Mitchell (Yvonne), Kenneth Mitchell (Elaine), and Mike Mitchell, all of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Brian Mitchell, Keith Mitchell, Keith Mulder, Chris Brautigan, Hayden Brautigan, Richard Williamson, Waylon Vowell, Tanner Mize and Joey Williamson.

A Wedowee native, Mr. Mitchell was born on October 15, 1954, the son of Edsel and Florence Pool Mitchell.  He was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver for Wedowee Building Supply.  Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and one brother, Wallace Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Benefield Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
