Funeral services for Coleman Nunn, age 85, of Wedowee will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Lane, Rev. L. B. Houston, Rev. Anthony Pouge, and Rev. Henry Nelson officiating.  Burial will follow at Wedowee City Cemetery.   

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 AM - 1:00 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Mr. Nunn passed away Monday, June 27, 2022, at his residence.

Survivors include: three daughters, Penny Foster of Wedowee, Juanita Nunn of Bessemer, AL, and Virginia Proquett of New York; sons, James E. Nunn of New York and stepson, Kimble M. Barsh of Santa Rose, FL; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jennifer Neal; brothers-in-law, Kimble Barsh and Jeffery Barsh; and brother, Leon Nunn of Bowdon, GA.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Nunn’s nephews.  

A Wedowee native, Mr. Nunn was born on January 7, 1937, the son of Bremen Nunn, Sr. and Essie Mae Stone Nunn. Mr. Nunn was Baptist by faith and worked for Herren Brothers Lumber Company. Mr. Nunn was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Barsh Nunn; a son, William Nunn; and two brothers.

Memorials may be floral or the family requests donations to Benefield Funeral Home, 17624 Highway 431, Wedowee, Alabama 36278, to help with final expenses.
