Obituary of Edith Irene Jones

Funeral services for Edith Irene Jones, 90, of Pensacola, FL, will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at 2:30 PM at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Baughman and Paul Wolfe officiating.  Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Bayview Memorial Park with Benefield Funeral Home and Harper-Morris Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Jones will lie in state at the church for one hour on Saturday, August 20 before services begin.

Mrs. Jones passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022, at her niece’s home in Wedowee, Alabama.

Survivors include her niece, Paula Malone of Wedowee; nephew, Todd Dunnavant (Valerie) of Houston, TX; great-nieces and nephews, Rob Malone (Miranda) of Daphne, AL, Patricia Lockhart, Esq., of Birmingham, AL, and Anna and Trey Lockhart.

Pallbearers will be the Lions Club Men of Pensacola.

A New Brockton, Alabama native, Mrs. Jones was born on September 11, 1931, the daughter of Wayne Sydney and Madge Hardwick Dunnavant.  She was a member of St. Marks United Methodist Church in Pensacola where she served on staff after retiring from civil service with the United States Government.  Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Pete Jones.
