Funeral services for Gail Lovvorn, age 77, of Newell, AL, will be held on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Estes officiating.  Burial will follow at the adjoining Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Mrs. Lovvorn passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022, in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: Daughter, Tonja Renee Lippard of Woodland; sons, Scott Smith of Woodland and James G. Smith, Jr. of Ohatchee; stepsons, Eddie Lovvorn (Donna) of Villa Rica, GA., Richard Lovvorn (Terri) of Woodland, AL., and Eric Lovvorn (Sheila) of Ranburne, AL.; step-daughter, Lynn Trussel (Bill); daughter-in-law, April Lovvorn of Wedowee; grandchildren, Bridget Cox, Jake Smith, Josh Smith, Lindsey Homesley, Grant Lovvorn, Annie Lovvorn, Skylar Lovvorn, Colton Lovvorn, Natalie Lovvorn, JC Lovvorn, Erica Lovvorn, Maura Lovvorn, and Brent Lovvorn; special grandchildren, Shaina Lippard, Justin Lippard, Haley Grant Kane, Kendall Grant Luker, and Stephanie Watkins; brothers, David Talley of Wellborn, Jimmie Talley of Anniston, and Randall Talley of Oxford.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.

Mrs. Lovvorn was born on December 20, 1944, in Anniston, AL. She is the daughter of James Lewis and Cora Rebecca Pugh Talley.  She was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church in Newell, AL. Mrs. Lovvorn worked in the school lunchroom for Randolph County Schools.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Lovvorn; sisters, Thelma Talley, Faye Crawford, Lucille Tipton, Mary Mullnax, and Betty Moore; brothers, Ted Talley, Johnny Wayne Talley, and Homer Talley; step-son, David Lovvorn; grandsons, Brandon K. Hanson and Kyle E. Ervin.
