Obituary of Sherry Lynn Parrish

Funeral services for Sherry Lynn Parrish, age 68, of Woodland will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Chad Murphy officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Church of Christ Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, October 8, 2022. 

Mrs. Parrish passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Noland Hospital in Anniston.

Survivors include: one son, Todd Parrish (Tonya) of Woodland; special friend, Elayne Broome of Woodland; special daughter, Amanda Avila of Newnan, GA; four grandchildren, Emma Parrish, Charlie Parrish, Isabella Avila, and Alexander Avila; one brother, Ted Brown (Elaine) of Woodland; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Messer, Brandon Stewart, Paul Davis, Jacob Stewart, Jeremy Stewart, and Mark Parmer.  Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Messer, John Davis, and Marlon Stewart.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Parrish was born on October 26, 1953, the daughter of Cecil and Ethelene Stewart Brown.  She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ and worked as a seamstress at Fashion Star.  Mrs. Parrish was also a talented artist who loved painting.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
