Obituary of Stell Foster Benefield

Graveside services for Stell Foster Benefield, age 78, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Bro. Scott Whaley officiating and Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30-2:30 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mr. Benefield passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Harlin Benefield of Wedowee; one daughter, Elizabeth Beasley (Mike) of Morris, AL; one son, John Benefield (Andrea) of Mount Olive, AL; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Karoline Beasley.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Benefield was born on September 23, 1944, the son of Stell and Viola Foster Benefield.  He was Baptist by faith and worked as the manager of reservoir development for Alabama Power Company before retiring. Mr. Benefield was preceded in death by his parents.
