Obituary of Sarah L. Richardson

Funeral services for Sarah L. Richardson, age 87, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM at East Napoleon Church of Christ with Alan Daniel and Donald Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

Mrs. Richardson passed away on Sunday, December 18, 2022, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Roman Richardson; daughter, Sandra Edwards (Barry) of Woodland, Ala.; sons, Rodney Richardson (Sheri) of Woodland, Ala., Roman Tommy Richardson (Kimberly) of Woodland, Ala., and Jeff Richardson (Amy) of Roanoke, Ala.; ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Ida Bell Bowen of Woodland, Ala. And Shirley Elder of North Carolina; and brother, Otis Bowen Jr. of Wedowee, Ala.

Pallbearers will be Roman Richardson II, Josh Richardson, Jacob Richardson, Billy Thrasher, Chase Adamson, and Nick Potts. Honorary pallbearers will be Trevor Richardson, Matt Murphy, and Mike Kirby.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Roanoke, Alabama, on December 17, 1935. She is the daughter of Otis William Bowen Sr. and Betty Lou Scott Bowen.  Mrs. Richardson was a member of East Napoleon Church of Christ and worked as a sewing inspector for Fashion Star. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Gregory Michael Richardson.
