Obituary of Frances Rollins Huddleston

Funeral services for Frances Rollins Huddleston, age 90, of Roanoke, will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Bro. Clayton Scott and Bro. Matt Browning officiating. Mrs. Huddleston will lie in state for one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, January 16.

Mrs. Huddleston passed away on January 15, 2023, at her residence.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews; care-givers, Wanda McDaniel, Karon Higgins, and Tracey Sims; and brother, Jackie Lee Rollins (Shelba) of Roanoke, AL.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Rollins, Eli Rollins, Tracy Belyeu, James Novinger, Jim Keller Sr., Randy Huddleston, and Steve McDaniel..

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Huddleston was born on April 1, 1932. She was the daughter of Isaac Jackson and Jewel A. Huey Rollins. Mrs. Huddleston was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church and volunteered at the Christian Service Center. She worked at Dunn Chevrolet, Goodall, and Woodland Plant. She was also a devoted house wife and a member of the Hobson Homemakers Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Russell M. Huddleston; son, Russell Huddleston, Jr.; and sister, Helen Rollins.
