Obituary of Orene Benefield Crenshaw

Funeral services for Orene Crenshaw, age 90, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Shirley Meddick officiating.  Burial will follow at Friendship Christian Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, March 13, 2023.

Mrs. Crenshaw passed away Thursday, March 9, 2023, at her residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Becky Norton of Roanoke; one son, Wes Crenshaw (Marie) of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, Alexa, Rainna, Shanna, Calli, and Tessa; three great-grandchildren with another on the way; and one sister, Polly Jackson of LaGrange, GA.

Pallbearers will be Ted Jackson, Glen Jackson, David Benefield, Matt Benefield, Lance Cashwell, Brennan Nichols, Jeremy Fisher, and Stan Williamson.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Crenshaw was born on November 27, 1932, the daughter of Lawson David and Bertha Wilson Benefield.  She was Christian by faith and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Crenshaw was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Clarence Crenshaw; and seven siblings, Carl, Douglas, Dorsey, Ralph, Edward “Zeke”, and Donald Benefield.
