Obituary of Houston Earl Spratlin

Funeral services for Houston Earl Spratlin, age 84, of Woodland, will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Bethel East Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Runels and Chelsea Prestridge officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at Bethel East Baptist Church from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM before services begin.

Mr. Spratlin passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023, at his home.

Survivors include his son, Steve Spratlin (Tammy) of Roanoke, Ala.; granddaughter, Chelsea Prestridge (Blake) of Auburn, Ala.; and great-granddaughter, Catherine Prestridge;

Pallbearers will be Johnathan Daniel, Bobby Freeman, Jon-David Freeman, Junior Parmer, Roger Maddox, and Curt Stinespring.

Mr. Spratlin was born in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 29, 1938, the son of Houston and Emma Gardner Spratlin.  He was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church and worked in Sales and Service for several gas companies. Mr. Spratlin was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Losette Parmer Spratlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Bethel East Baptist Church or The Ann Caldwell Memorial Scholarship at Southern Union Community College. Online condolences may be expressed at www.benefieldfhwedowee.com.
