Obituary of James Michael Johnson

James Michael Johnson, age 54, of Columbus, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at his residence.

Survivors include: seven children; six grandchildren; two sisters, Sabrina Johnson of Roanoke and Sereathan of Bristol, TN; and one brother, Clarence Tucker of Roanoke.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Johnson was born on August 10, 1968, the son of William Frank Johnson, Sr., and Minnie Mae Barnett Johnson.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roanoke and worked in maintenance at Candlewick Yarns.  Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William “Peter” Johnson, Jr., and Charles Edward Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Benefield Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
