Obituary of Barbara Ann Laney Waldrep

Funeral services for Barbara Ann Laney Waldrep, age 82, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Don Ellison and Denise McGill officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2023.

Mrs. Waldrep passed away Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Tanner East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include: one son, James Barry Waldrep (Lesia) of Wedowee; grandchildren, Morgan Lynn (Gresham) of Lagrange, GA, and Mallorie McGue of Wedowee; sisters-in-law, Willene Kelly of Newnan, GA, and Ann Mintz (William) of Lakeland, FL; and brother-in-law, Randy Langley of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Leland Whaley, Rusty Brown, Robie Harper, Doug Williams, Gresham Lynn, and Chase Golden.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Waldrep was born on May 27, 1941, the daughter of George Terrell and Alleen Kimbell Laney. She was a seamstress for Lamar Manufacturing Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Perry Waldrep; sister, Faye Hester; and brothers, Oliver Laney and Jack Laney.
