Obituary of Patricia Smith

Funeral services for Patricia Lorraine Smith, age 77, of Wedowee will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Bro. Corky Addison officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00-3:00 PM on Sunday before services begin.

Mrs. Smith passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, James Smith of Wedowee; three daughters, Lori Smith, Brenda Bell, and Cierra McCormick; two sons, Dan Smith and Jordan McCormick; three grandchildren, Kayla Hazellief, Shania Hazellief, and Chase Bell (Allie Stroud); and five great-grandchildren, Maggie Mae McCormick, Addy Guadagno, Blakely McCormick, Evie Laplant, and Steven Stroud.

Pallbearers will be Mike Burns, Toby Husk, and Chet Husk.  Ricky Daniel will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A Stark, Florida native, Mrs. Smith was born on September 5, 1946, the daughter of Luther and Jana “Pearl” Smith Clark. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents.
