Obituary of Anthony Bernard :Smokey" Sims

Funeral services for Anthony Bernard “Smokey” Sims, age 53, of Mableton, Georgia, will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with A.G. Sims officiating. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2023.

Mr. Sims passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Wellstar Cobb Hospital in Austell, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, April Sims of Mableton, GA; three daughters, Tyla Sims, Aniyla Sims, and Toni Sims; his mother, Wylander “Faye” Sims; and seven siblings, Aaron Robertson (Wanda), Tracey Sims, Toraze Sims (Teresa), Willis Knight, Reco Robertson, Reco Sims (Talia) and Lequinda Smith.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Sims was born on January 19, 1970, the son of Willis Knight and Wylander “Faye” Sims.  He was a member of Canaan Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver and was the owner of Sims Construction.  Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Tasha Knight.
