Funeral services for Lewis Pate Huddleston, age 84, of Woodland will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Daniel and Bro. Rayford Edmondson officiating.  Burial will follow at Midway Community Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00 AM on Wednesday before services begin.

Mr. Huddleston passed away Monday, December 11, 2023, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Huddleston of Woodland; and three siblings, Mary L. Mote and Mary Alice Strain (Don), and Roy Huddleston (Priscilla), all of Wedowee.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Strain, Chase Cooper, W.C. Pate, Donnie Wayne Grant, Don McManus, and William Cooper.  Honorary pallbearers will be James Mote, Dan Huddleston, Charles Mote, and Don Strain.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Huddleston was born on April 4, 1939, the son of Albert L. and Lillie Bowen Huddleston.  He was a member of Herren’s Grove Baptist Church and also attended Midway Community Methodist Church.  He was a United States Army veteran and also retired from Southwire as a maintenance planner.  Mr. Huddleston enjoyed farming, hunting, and fishing at Woodland Lake.  He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Gregory Ben Huddleston; two brothers, A.J. Huddleston and Joe Tal Huddleston; infant siblings; Lera Huddleston and Benny Don Huddleston; and brother-in-law, John Mote.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
