Obituary of Mike Spratlin

Funeral services for Mike Spratlin, age 70, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randal Skinner, Rev. David Holcombe, and Bro. Sawyer Spratlin officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel West Baptist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023.

Mr. Spratlin passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, at Tanner Medical Center-East Alabama in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife, Jackie Battles Spratlin of Wedowee; one son, Sawyer Spratlin (Amy) of Lineville; one daughter, Misty Hosey (Tracy) of Carrollton, GA; three sisters, Shelia Spradlin (Donald) of Woodland, Barbara Dabbs (Tommy) of Roanoke, and Mary Dabbs (James) of Wadley; two brothers, Harold Spratlin (Brenda) of Woodland and Ricky Spratlin (Jean) of Roanoke; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Chris Weathers, Jason Meadows, Jaime Meadows, Tim Spratlin, Davy Spratlin, and Sawyer Spratlin.

A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Spratlin was born in Bowdon, Georgia, on September 5, 1953, the son of Ernest and Florence Beck Spratlin.  He was Baptist by faith and a retired welder/fabricator for Pilgrim’s.  Mr. Spratlin was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bud Spratlin and Gerald Spratlin; and two sisters, Gwen Meadows and Rebecca Weathers.
