Funeral services for Ray “Doc” Moody, age 89, of Woodland will be held on Monday, January 8, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Halsey, Rev. Tony Morris, and Rev. Terry Eason officiating.  Burial will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, January 7, 2024. 

Mr. Moody passed away Friday, January 5, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include: one son, Danny Moody (Carol) of Woodland; one grandson, Daniel Colton Moody of Montgomery, AL; step-grandchildren, Susan, Bud, Meghan, Damion, and Jessica; step-great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Amberlee, Kailyn, Meilanni, Jewell, and Rosaleigh; his four-legged companion, Riley; one brother, Coleman Moody of Prattville, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Woodland native, Mr. Moody was born on April 28, 1934, the son of Doc and Lois Brown Moody.  He was a member of Providence Baptist Church and was retired from the maintenance department of Southwire.  Mr. Moody was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dean Moody; and several brothers and sisters.
