Funeral services for John Arnold Holley, age 85, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM CST at Benefield Funeral Chapel at 17624 Hwy 431, Wedowee, AL 36278, with Rev. Corky Addison and Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating.  Burial will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Park at 2000 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, Georgia at 2:00 PM CST/3:00 PM EST Friday afternoon.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM CST on Thursday, February 1, 2024. 

Mr. Holley passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Maydean Burt Holley of Wedowee; two daughters, Tina White (Benny) of Mableton, GA, and Nancy Gandee (Ricky) of McDonough, GA; two sons, Joe Holley of Atlanta, GA, and Allen Lett (Ginger) of Wellborn, AL; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Natalie Freeman and Helen Borders, both of Anniston, and Mildred James of Fairhope, AL.

A Calhoun County native, Mr. Holley was born on March 9, 1938, the son of Matthew H. and Lois Ledford Holley.  He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor from Sonoco.  Mr. Holley was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Betty Holley; and one brother, Buddy Holley.
