Uncle Stan,
I will always cherish my memories of you, especially with our extended family at your lake house. You were an incredibly special person and I will remember you most as the captain of the pontoon boat with a big smile on your face. We could always count on your for a good story with a big laugh at the end. You had an incredible ear for live music and gladly shared this with the whole family. You were a devoted husband and amazing father to two beautiful daughters and we miss you dearly in our family. ❤️

There really are no words that capture how amazing Stan was to anyone who knew him. He truly made the world a brighter place. He accomplished so much professionally but how he loved and provided for his family always stood out as beyond special.
Suzanne was his true soul mate and his girls, grands and their families were his treasures. His character was front and center as he walked with his sister during her last days. For so many years he battled health issues but you never heard him complain. He handled it with with grace, humor and strength. Just a few examples (there are many more) that explain why he was so loved and why he will be missed so deeply. Thankful for his heavenly healing while we grieve our loss of such an amazing man!

Stan was my brother-in-law but he was really so much more than that to me-he was also my good friend. As I was reminiscing this past week I realized I couldn’t really remember the first time I met Stan, at first that bothered me but then I thought-that's really a good thing because Stan was one of those people you felt that you always knew. Easy to talk to, easy to like, fun to be around-I really enjoyed his company. As you read his obituary you realize his many accomplishments and what an impressive man he was but I think what he would most like to be remembered as, and the way that I remember him, is as a loving husband to my sister and and wonderful father to Lindsey and Kristen. You were a success Stan in all measures of life. I love and miss you. Joe

Uncle Stan was one of a kind - more like an older cool brother than an Uncle!
During my year between my junior and senior year of high school I spent the summer with him and my Aunt Suzanne…what I remember most were the hours and hours spent making mix tapes in Stan’s music room and the hours and the incredible history of music that Uncle Stan taught me. All the classics. Classic rock to classic country. From Keith Whitley to Aerosmith. My love for live music and concerts was a shared topic that we bonded over all my life and that I am
passing on to my children. Stan brought so much joy to all with his love of music - and that legacy lives on.
Suzanne, Kristin, Lindsey - I love you all so very much and I’m wrapping my arms around you.

Stan was such a an awesome cousin, he always made you feel welcome in his home. He was a fabulous cook and a fabulous musician. He loved his music and shared it with all of us. He truly loved his family and showed his love to his three girls often (Suzanne, Lindsey, and Kristen) but those grandbabies were his life. All the pictures expressed his devotion to his family. Stan, you are truly missed and loved.

Stan, you are already so missed by everyone who knew you. Everyone who had the opportunity to meet you instantly loved you. I’m so glad that our families were raised so close together that I was able to witness the love that you gave not just your immediate family, but everyone that came in contact with you. you are one of the kindest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. You and Suzanne raised two beautiful girls that got every bit of their parents best qualities. I enjoyed reading about all the sides of Stan that I didn’t get to see such as Nashville, Stan. You were always interesting to me growing up and always had the best stories and the best life examples when we would get together at reunions or at the lake. We love you Stan, thank you for the wonderful memories!

I love you and will miss you more than words can ever say. I am so lucky that I had such a solid foundation in you and mom. You are the strongest person I have met in my 36 years, and no one will ever hold a candle to you, Dad. You will forever be my rock, and my strength and I am so proud that I am your daughter. Watch over us all. The boys will be playing for you! And like I told them when their Paw Paw passed on….. you guys have the best seats in the house. We love you so much.

We always were of the opinion that total nonsense was important! I still grill the pork tenderloin they way you taught me. Always turns out delicious! So many thoughts and memories I will keep with me. I love you and you will remain with me in spirit.

So sorry for your loss. I remember well the HCA Reimbursement days in Dallas and the fun get togethers we used to have, have some great pictures of one at the Hillers house, but none of Stan, all Susuanne! I remember when your first daughter was born and also going to a Super Bowl party at your house, can't remember who was playing tho. So many of this group are now gone including at least one wife, so take care of yourself and your family. Time will heal your grief, but you will keep all your good memories and forget the hard times.

Stan was Jerry’s boss/co-worker who became a dear life-long friend! We have so many great memories of going to concerts with Stan & Suzanne. We also have vivid fun memories of Suzanne’s 50th Birthday party with so many friends in their lovely home before they moved to the lake. But our favorite memories are our trips to their lake house in Wedowee. We went once a year for many years in summer or fall & always with Sally + other friends. He & Suzanne were so welcoming: (welcome gifts in our rooms) wonderful meals & movies; they were the perfect fun couple, and the best hosts! We shared so many laughs & good times hanging out in their basement, watching Stan entertain us with his mixology skills as he made special concoctions & played great music! There were always fun picnic cruises with Capt. Stan @ the helm of his pontoon boat & many good stories & laughs!!
As the years passed & we all became involved with grand children, the trips diminished, but our love for Stan & Suzanne never did! We always heard from them at Christmas with a beautiful card & often a fun whimsical gift that brought smiles to our faces. We will always remember the big smile & warm heart of Stan Broadway, a classic & true southern gentleman with a love of Life, Family & Friends. He will truly be missed, but never forgotten by anyone whose life he touched & he definitely touched ours in so many ways. Our hearts & much love go out to Suzanne + all of his Family. We hope to see all those videos of the grandchildren that he loved so much soon!!
Sending our deepest Sympathy & continued prayers to his beautiful Family. We hope all the wonderful memories of his very successful, and well lived life lift you up during this time of grief & loss.
Sincerely,
Jamie & Jerry Cox

I met Stan when I began working at HFA in 1995 and continued working with him afterwards at SRG starting in 1999 as his first employee until about 2016. He was my boss, but treated me more as a friend.
Stan was a friend to everyone… whether it was someone he went to school with or worked with, a client or else, he made and had many many lifelong friends.
He always seemed larger than life to me. He had a lot of serious health scares over the years I worked with him and after, but always seemed to overcome them. I especially remember that even with all of his health issues, you would never have known he was sick. He never complained about not feeling good and he just seemed to be invincible. He was always pleasant, respectful, jovial and friendly and everyone that knew him knew he sure loved his family.
I loved hearing his stories and one I recall is how persistent he was when he first met Suzanne and didn't give in until she agreed to go out with him. Another story that brings a laugh every time I think about it is the golf cart and driveway incident with the dog in the front seat and them crashing into the front of the house.... There are just so many great ones. Stan sure could tell a story like no one else.
Stan really was larger than life IMO. I will miss him as will anyone that knew him, but I will hold onto all of the fond memories and many stories we have of him.
My life would not be what it is today had I not met Stan. I will always be grateful that our paths crossed. I hope the memories of Stan help ease the pain of his loss for his family and friends.

My friendship with Stan started during our Mississippi State University days at the Pi Kappa Alpha house where we were fraternity brothers, and that friendship grew to be "best friends" throughout our entire lives. Now there are so many wonderful and crazy stories I could tell, but I plan to leave those stories for another day.
However, there is a story of our Lord Jesus Christ and Stan that I want to share with you. You see, the early morning of Suzanne's birthday, Saturday February 17th I awoke before the dawn of the new day with a strong urging from who I truly believe was the Holy Spirit telling me to pray and ask Jesus to say, "Happy Birthday" to Suzanne. Now I have never in my entire life thought to ask that in a prayer. And so I prayed that God would reveal Himself to her and simply say "Happy Birthday" to her.
"Our Father, I don't know how you will do this but maybe communicate through a prayer time with her, or through a family member or friend, or through her pet labradoodle named Paisley, or by some sign from your beautiful creation of nature and the outdoors that surrounds us everyday. In Jesus' Name, Amen."
As we normally do on their birthdays, my wife Linda and I called her at approximately 8:00am to "sing" the Happy Birthday song (if that's what you would call our singing). At this point I had not shared with Linda or Suzanne my prayer I had earlier that morning. When she answered our phone call Suzanne said with lots of excitement that she had just seen an 8 point whitetail buck out from her kitchen window earlier that morning for over 30 minutes that walked around and then laid down under one of her trees on their property. She said they had seen does and yearlings before but never an 8 point buck. She then began to tell us that one of their Camelia bushes which has never bloomed in the 17 years of them living there, had blooms on it this morning for the first time ever. (See the picture attached).
At this moment my heart was racing and I couldn't wait any longer to tell her about my prayer, and that what she had experienced with the buck and the Camellia bush was Jesus and Stan telling her "Happy Birthday"!!
I truly believe Our God answers prayers and shows up in our lives if only we would just look for His amazing presence!

Such a dear friend and a great leader. Stan treated everyone as if he had known them forever. And some he had known that long! Stan had such an appreciation for music and I’ll always cherish the concerts we shared together. He was a big fan of Mel’s and always encouraged him. He was a wonderful mentor and taught me so much about sales. I’m so grateful that he included me on his journey. This world was a better place because he was in it. I will miss him terribly.
Suzanne, you and your family are in our prayers. We loved Stan so much.
Rest easy , Stan, and may God bless your soul. ❤️❤️❤️

I will never forget the day yall were moving Lindsey to college and the mattress flew off the truck on Mars hill. I stopped my truck in the middle of the road blocking traffic (not caring who got mad) and helped you load it up and strap it back down. Then the time your basement flooded and I came over and ripped out all the flooring loaded it up and took it to the dump. You got so mad at me for not taking the money your offered. For weeks Kristen would tell me “mad dad is mad at you for not letting him pay you” you will be missed but these memories will stay with me forever. Rest easy Sir. Love Brad

This Guy…This Man…Stan the Man…Nashville Stan…”Clyde”, he was a one of a kind character to those of us that knew and loved him. It was so easy to make him laugh, and he would always end up doing something so funny it would makes us laugh till we cried! He was so easy going but could rise to a temper at times. But I’ve never known a grown man that could show his soft and sensitive side like Stan. Tears came easily to Stan and he didn’t get embarrassed by it which impressed me. He would always throw his arm around you or hug you when he was with you. He could sense if you were down or having a bad day. Stan was aware of other’s feelings which is rare sometimes in a man and better yet he would express his feelings which is rarer. But most of all, everyone usually had a great time when Stan was in the group. He and Suzanne were wonderful hosts at both their house in Georgia and especially at the lake and we had wonderful times over there! Stan was in his element behind the bar, telling and listening to stories, and serving his friends and if the night went on long enough he would start forgetting to add the liquor to the drinks, lol. He was a real Southern gentleman who loved his cars, his music, his friends, and his family. He had his priorities right. Cheers to Our Stan…The Man.
