Memorial services for William Joel Yarbrough, Sr., age 85, of Woodland will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Noonday Christian Church with Joel Yarbrough officiating.

Mr. Yarbrough passed away Friday, March 8, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Debbie Elzey (Robert) of Phenix City, AL; one son, Joel Yarbrough (Wendy) of Woodland one stepdaughter Kate Berry, of Florida; six grandchildren, Andrea Stitcher, Parker Moore, Charlotte Jackson, Hunter Smith, and Brandon Poe (Jada); seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A Hogansville, Georgia native, Mr. Yarbrough was born on May 22, 1938, the son of Robert and Rachel Reid Yarbrough. He was a United States Army veteran and worked as a shipping clerk for Douglas & Lomason before his retirement. Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janelle Koonce Yarbrough, Second wife Cheryl Berry Yarbrough; Sister Ellen Hauck, Brother Wayne Yarbrough, Brother Reid Yarbrough, a daughter, Becky Dollar; and a grandchild, Chad Spradlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Alabama Hospice.
