Obituary of Robert "Bobby" Kelley

Funeral services for Robert Franklin “Bobby” Kelley, age 89, of Woodland will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jason Owens officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-3:00 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Mr. Kelley passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Roanoke Healthcare Center.

Survivors include his wife, Nedra Kelley of Roanoke; two stepdaughters; one stepson; two daughters-in-law; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Nell Redden, Eris Watson, and Melba Jeter, all of Roanoke; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be C. J. Burk, Justin Burk, Travis Kelley, Clint Striblin, Anthony Gosdin, and Stacy Mitchell.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Kelley was born on February 18, 1935, the son of Robert A. and Odessa McDaniel Kelley.  He was a member of Highway Congregational Methodist Church and was self-employed in logging.  Mr. Kelley was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Eric Kelley; brother, Earnest Kelley; and sisters, Faye Boyd and Nadine Herren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to the American Heart Association or to one’s favorite charity.
