Mrs. Duncan passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton Georgia.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Duncan of Wedowee, two daughters, Rebecca West of Davenport, Iowa, and Shelly Lynn; two sons Craig (Lori) Upton of Celebration, Florida, and Jeffrey (Tracy) West of Burlington, Iowa; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Juanita Smith of Carrollton Georgia.
A Minnesota native, Mrs. Duncan was born on September 11, 1934, daughter of Clifford and Francine Cord Brown. She later moved to Burlington, Iowa, her junior year of high school. She graduated in 1953 from Burlington Senior High School. This is where she raised her family.
In 1981 she moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where she met Jack Duncan and were married in 1983. She worked for the city of Wichita Falls in the code enforcement department.
After her retirement in 1998 they moved to Wedowee, Alabama. She was a member of First Baptist church of Wedowee. Mrs. Duncan was very active in her community. She served as president of the Wedowee Garden Club. She volunteered with the East Alabama Tanner Hospital Auxiliary. She was a member of the Swagg Homemakers Club. Mrs. Duncan enjoyed taking care of her house and flower gardens, visits from her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, dining out and she especially enjoyed all the activities associated with her Sunday school class. She was an artist and enjoyed anything to do with paint. She loved to square dance (Swinging Stars) with Jack.
Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Upton; daughter, Susan Ballenberger; and her grandson, Jared Schiedel.
