Obituary

Funeral services for Lesa Carol Sellers, age 75, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 12:00 noon at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Dan Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024.

Mrs. Sellers passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at UAB Palliative Care in Birmingham, AL.

Survivors include her husband, James Sellers of Wedowee; three daughters, Susan Gamblin (Stacey) of Douglasville, GA, Caitlin Sellers of Roanoke and Autum Sellers of Wedowee; three sons, Steve Dunlap (Stacey) of Wedowee, David Dunlap (Tammy) of Panama City Beach, FL, and Justin Sellers (Louise) of Wedowee; 13 grandchildren, Robby Dunlap (Becky), Tayler Norris (Romeo), Turtle Dunlap, Mable Dunlap, Faith Stewart (Chris), Josie Gamblin (James Whitten), Grace Gamblin, Reece Gamblin, Timmy Mauzy (Lindsey), Tyler Spillers, Byron Butts (Taylor), Austin Butts, and Josephine Sellers, with one grandson, James Thomas Sellers on the way; and 15 great-grandchildren, Phoenix Dunlap, Lakelynn Norris, Brodie Norris, Hadleigh Norris, Remi Dunlap, Ares Stewart, August Stewart, Matthew Whitten, Haley Whitten, Emma Whitten, Mason Whitten, Waylon Whitten, Barret Mauzy, and Greyson Mauzy.

Pallbearers will be Justin Sellers, Timmy Mauzy, Tyler Spillers, Jordan Pendley, Byron Butts, and Austin Butts.

Robby Dunlap and Mike Tyson will be honorary pallbearers.

A Georgia native, Mrs. Sellers was born on December 10, 1948, the daughter of Hoyt and Ethel Green Dangar. She was Baptist by faith and was a homemaker who loved her family and grandbabies dearly. Mrs. Sellers was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Angela Butts; and a grandson, Buddy Dunlap.
