Obituary of Geraldine Prince Thompson

Funeral services for Geraldine Prince Thompson, age 86, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Napoleon Church of Christ with Bro. Ronnie Prince and Bro. Rick Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 AM on Saturday before services begin.

Mrs. Thompson passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her son’s home.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jeri Crooks of LaGrange, GA; two sons, Jeff Thompson (Samantha) of Alex City, AL, and Joe Thompson (Lisa) of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Brent Crooks, Wendell Thompson, Colton Thompson, and Will Thompson; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Colton Thompson, C.J. Burk, Will Thompson, Wendell Thompson, Elton Prince, and Bran Futral.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Thompson was born on January 1, 1938, the daughter of Gillis Elton and Mattie Lee Heard Prince.  She was a member of Napoleon Church of Christ. Mrs. Thompson was a 1956 graduate of Randolph County High School and was retired from Milliken where she worked in food service.  She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Joe Howard Thompson.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery Fund.
