Joan Butler Ruggles, age 98, of Wedowee passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke, AL.
Survivors include: two daughters, Madelyn Candler of Wedowee and Allison Gore of Montgomery; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Florida native, Mrs. Ruggles was born on August 4, 1926, the daughter of Robert Kimble and Madelyn R. Roggy Butler. She was Presbyterian by faith and worked as a social worker for the State of Florida before her retirement. Mrs. Ruggles was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn R. Ruggles; and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
