Obituary of Virginia Oxford

Virginia Deegan Oxford, age 77, of Wedowee passed away on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Lineville Health & Rehab in Lineville, AL.

Survivors include her daughter, Devon Oxford and her partner, Brad Cook; her brother, Jack Deegan and his wife, Joanne; her cousin, Patty Lepley and her husband, Roger; and her nephew, Chad Deegan, his wife, Erin, and their three children, Megan, Chaddy, and Chip.

Born in California on May 30, 1947, Mrs. Oxford was the daughter of John and Virginia Flick Deegan.  She moved to Georgia as a young woman before finding her dream community in Wedowee. Mrs. Oxford was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wedowee and worked as a flight attendant for Delta Airlines before retiring.  She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernard Oxford.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Wedowee.
