Funeral services for Kathleen Gosdin Ray, age 95, of Wilsonville, AL, formerly of Randolph County, will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM on Saturday before services begin.

Survivors include: one daughter, Charlene R. Seymour of Wadley; one son, Joseph A. Ray of Wilsonville, AL; and her beloved pet, Zookie.

Pallbearers will be Jessie Johnson, Barry Johnson, Jerry Walker, Jarrod Walker, Eddie Creed, and Randy Akins.  Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Wortham and Ray Rogers.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Ray was born on August 23, 1929, the daughter of Tom and Velma McCain Gosdin.  She was a member of Iduma Congregational Methodist Church and was a homemaker.  Mrs. Ray enjoyed volunteering.  She was a volunteer with the Randolph County Hospital Auxiliary, Traylor’s Nursing Home, and was voted Volunteer of the Year one year for the state of Alabama.  Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Ray; son-in-law, O’Brian Seymour; one sister, Dorothy Smitherman; and four brothers, Leon, Clarence, Merril, and Elvon Gosdin.

Memorials may be floral.
