Funeral services for Betty Baker, age 87, of Wedowee, AL, will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Smith and Bro. Keith Benefield officiating.  Burial will follow at Crumbley’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 AM until services begin on Friday.

Mrs. Baker passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, GA.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tonya Cook (Ronald) of Bowdon, GA; three sons, Lamar Weaver (Stephanie) of Bowdon, GA, Dwayne Weaver of Alexander City, AL, and Jimmy Weaver of Bowdon, GA; several grand and great-grandchildren; one sister, Kathy Freeman of Ranburne, AL; and one brother, Larry Smith (Carolyn) of Roanoke, AL.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Smith, Tim Smith, Eddie Smith, Jamie Smith, Buck Steeley, and Austin Steeley.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Baker was born on January 28, 1937, the daughter of James and Leona Baldwin Smith.  She was a member of Lowell Congregational Holiness Church and worked as a seamstress for Riverside Manufacturing.  Mrs. Baker enjoyed puzzles and singing in her church group.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her 1st husband, Melvin Weaver; 2nd husband, Junior Hogan; 3rd husband, Bobby Baker; one sister, Edith Steeley; and six brothers, Calvin Smith, Alvin Smith, James Ray Smith, Waymon Smith, Emmitt Smith, and Clyde Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to go to Benefield Funeral Home for final expenses.
