Obituary of Melissa Ann Bailey

Funeral services for Melissa Ann Bailey, age 51, of Wedowee will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Dr. Corky Addison and Marty Smith officiating.  Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, December 12, 2024.  Mrs. Bailey will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Bailey passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton.

Survivors include her husband, Craig Bailey of Wedowee; one daughter, Katlin Leigh Bailey of Wedowee; one son, Michael Richard Bailey of LaGrange, GA; two brothers, Ben Addison (Jennifer) of Cartersville, GA, and Jason Addison of LaGrange, GA; and nieces and nephews, Calista Addison, Logan Addison, Laci Addison, Hannah Bailey, and Joseph Bailey.

Pallbearers will be Ben Addison, Jason Addison, Logan Addison, Martin Smith, Michael Bailey, and Caleb Addison.

A LaGrange, Georgia native, Mrs. Bailey was born on September 6, 1973, the daughter of Michael Eugene and Judy Ann Smith Addison.  She was a member at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and worked as a CNA at the Florence Hand Home for over 17 years.  Mrs. Bailey enjoyed crafting in her free time.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
