Obituary of Roger Lee Johnson

Roger Lee Johnson, 88, of Woodland, AL, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Johnson of Woodland; two daughters, Lisa Brecht (Jeff) of Champlin, MN, and Sherry Zdunko (Rich) of Hoschton, GA; three sons, Steve Johnson (Sherry) of Cambridge, MN, Scott Johnson (Jamie) of Princeton, MN, and Kerry Crowe of Woodland; ten grandchildren, Stephanie Crowe (Kenneth Gray) of Woodland; Lauren Sanchez of Buford, GA, Jacob Sanchez of Hoschton, GA, Shawn Johnson (Hannah) of Dalbo, MN, Sara Larsen (Chad) of Sterling, AK, Alison Rose (Cory) of Princeton, MN, Randy Johnson (Karen) of Ortonville, MI, and Josh Brecht (Kelsey), Lindsey Brecht, and Lydia Brecht, all of Champlin, MN; several great-grandchildren; and one brother, William “Bill” Johnson (Barbara) of Chandler, AZ.

A Minneapolis, MN native, Mr. Johnson was born on April 29, 1936, the son of John and Amelia Harriet Englund Johnson.  He was a veteran of the United States Air Force where he worked in air traffic control.  Following his time in the military, Mr. Johnson handled building permits in Maricopa County, Arizona.  He loved Phoenix, Arizona, and also Yellowstone National Park, which is where he and Mrs. Johnson met. After meeting and falling in love, Mr. Johnson moved here to be with Mrs. Johnson.  He attended Noon Day Christian Church and had recently received his 50-year Mason pin.  Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Barry Crowe; and a brother, Richard Johnson.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and Mr. Johnson will be interred at Fort Snelling in Minnesota.
