Shirley Ayres Prater, 79, of Micaville passed away on January 16 at her home. Services will be held January 18, 1:30 pm, at Benefield Funeral Home Chapel with Mason Nolen, Rev. Chris Mitchell and Rev. Brian Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Morrison Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until service time on Saturday, January 18.

Shirley was born August 19, 1945 to W.L. and Jessie Ayres. A graduate of Randolph County High School and employed by Lamar Manufacturing in Woodland and Cleburne County Nursing Home. She was a member of Morrisons Chapel and attended Jordan Chapel.

She is survived by daughters Tammy (Ray) Nolen and Misty (Lee) Pointer; grandchildren, Megan (Michael) Chandler, Blake (Amberly) Pointer, Mason (Miranda) Nolen, Landon (Bre) Pointer; great grandchildren; Emerson Pointer, Ryleigh Chandler, Ezra Pointer, Averie Pointer and baby Nolen; sisters, Betty Murphy and Linda (Robert) Crosson.

Pallbearers will be: Blake Pointer, Landon Pointer, Mason Nolen, Michael Chandler, Phil Chasse and Billy Ayres.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Prater of 52 years; her parents, a brother Pat Ayres; sisters, Mary Williams, Carolyn Wright and Polly Ward.
