Services for Arrie Striblin Ware Whaley age 88, of Roanoke will be held Wednesday August 5, 2009 at 2:oo PM at Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Scott and Rev. Lendon Fields officiating. Burial will follow in Potash Cemetery. Mrs. Whaley passed away August 2, 1009 at her residence. Mrs. Whaley is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Ware Taylor of Jacksonville, Fl. and Judy Ware ( James) Whaley of Roanoke, two step sons, Brad (Nellie) Whaley and Leonard Whaley both of Valley, one sister Deona Striblin Rollins of Montgomery and Wade R. Striblin Jr. of Roanoke, and two grandchildren Cdr. Rhonda Taylor of Jacksonville, Fl and Timothy Vinson Taylor Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga. and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be nephews and great nephews. Mrs. Whaley was born June 16, 1921 the daughter of Wade R. and Minnie Lee Hancock Striblin Sr., she was retired from the textile industry and a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands Edward L. Ware and Elbert Whaley, three brothers Calvin, Henry and Howard Striblin and three sisters Lois Striblin, Florence Striblin and Beulah Rollins. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee on Tuesday August 4, 2009 from 5 till 8 PM. Mrs. Whaley will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
