Funeral services for William Dale Dye, age 63, of Woodland, will be held Monday, March 1, 2010, at 2:00 pm from Providence Baptist Church with Revs. Wendell Ford, David Daniel and Tony Morris officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 28th. Mr. Dye will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm on Monday.

Mr. Dye died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Ga.

Survivors include two sons, Phillip Dye (Tara) of Carrollton and Eric Dye (Katie) of Woodland; two grandchildren, Bethany and Nicolas Dye; and a sister, JoAnn Prescott of Woodland.

Pallbearers will be Junior Whitmore, Chad Whitmore, D. C. Dearman, Chuck Smith, Joe Thompson, Carl Perkins, Harold Spratlin and J. R. Fincher.

A lifelong Randolph County resident, Mr. Dye was born December 26, 1946, son of Mack and Ruby Brown Dye. He was a 1965 graduate of Woodland High School, a member of Providence Baptist Church and had been employed with General Motors. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Patsy Dye; and a sister, Catherine Madden.
