Funeral services for Fred Calvin Wilson, age 81, of Woodland will be held Saturday March 6, 2010 at 11:00 AM from Bear Creek Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Wilson passed away Tuesday March 2, 2010 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife Joanne Wilson of Woodland, two daughters, Lisa Wilson Christopher of Fayetteville, Ga. and Mollie Wilson Patterson of Rincon, Ga. three sons, Andrew David Wilson of Seabrook, Tx., Calvin Lowe Wilson Baku, Az. and Perry Walter Wilson of Laurel, Md., one brother Benjamin Wilson of Woodland, eleven grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Andrew David Wilson, Calvin Lowe Wilson, Perry Walter Wilson, Neal Christopher, William Fred Christopher, Benjamin Wilson Christopher, Andrew Ryan Wilson and David Glen Wilson.
Mr. Wilson was born July 4, 1928 the son of Benjamin Hoyt and Eula Mae Traylor Wilson. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the United States Navy, retired from C. E. Sheppard Co. as an electrical engineer, and a member of Bear Creek Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and one brother.
The family will receive friends Friday March 5, 2010 from 6 till 8 PM at Benefield Funeral Home in Wedowee. Mr. Wilson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
