Obituary Notice Funeral services for Mr. Lewis M. "Sam" Yarbrough, age 82, of Woodland will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 2, 2010 from Providence Baptist Church with Rev. Wendell Ford, Tony Morris and David Daniel officiating. Mr. Yarbrough will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. Mr. Yarbrough died Monday, May 31, 2010 at Hospice LaGrange. Mr. Yarbrough is survived by his wife, Lottie Harris Yarbrough of Woodland; two sons, Max (wife Wilda) Yarbrough of Woodland, Ray (wife Debbie) Yarbrough of Woodland; one sister, Laura Laney of Woodland; six grandchildren, Chuck (wife Kelly) Yarbrough, Ginger Yarbrough, Brad (wife Tara) Yarbrough, Brandon (wife Casey) Yarbrough, Angie Yarbrough (husband Randy) McManus , Melanie Yarbrough(husband Josh) Burns; ten great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Brad Yarbrough, Brandon Yarbrough, Josh Burns, Randy McManus, Ricky Spradlin, JR Fincher, Joe Thompson and Thomas Green. Mr. Yarbrough was born, August 25, 1927, the son of Henry and Martha Washington Yarbrough. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church, retired from the Anniston Army Depot, and served in the United States Army during WWII. Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Yarbrough; one daughter, Beverly Yarbrough; daughter-in-law, Joy A.Yarbrough.
