OBITUARY
Funeral service for Betty Jean Clayton, age 48, of Wedowee, will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from Bethel West Baptist Church, Rev. David Holcomb officiating and Lauren Lovvorn reading a poem. Miss Clayton will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 5:30 - 8:00 pm.
Miss Clayton died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at University of Alabama Hospital Birmingham.
Survivors include four sisters, Glenda Hill of Newell, Donna Cosper of Newell, Shelia Clifton of Woodland, Elaine Sewell of Heflin; one brother, Jimmy Watkins of Grey, GA; several nieces and Nephews; several great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be Adam Clifton, Tim Lovvorn, Martin Champion, John Morgan, Jason Reaves and Shannon Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Mabry and A. J. Sewell.
Miss Clayton was born, January 15, 1962, daughter of Billy Joe and Alice Simpson Clayton. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jessie James Dunn and Lonnie Ray Dunn.
