Obituary Notice
Funeral services for Mr. Roy H. Mitchell, age 85, of Wedowee, will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, August 5, 2010, from Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Donald Spradlin officiating. Burial will follow in Wedowee City Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 4, 2010.
Mr. Mitchell died, Monday, August 2, 2010 at Randolph Medical Center.
Mr. Mitchell is survived by one sister, Lemerle Ayres of Wedowee; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Clinton Puckett, Basil Mitchell, Sammy Young, Wesley Duke, Terry Holloway and Christopher Edgmon.
Mr. Mitchell was born, July 7, 1925, the son of Fed T. and Lela Waldrep Mitchell. He was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and had worked for West Point Pepperell. Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Puckett Mitchell; two sisters, Sarah Adamson and Earline Mitchell; two brothers, Otis and Toll Mitchell.
