Funeral services for Myrtis Bradley Hanson, age 85 of Wedowee will be held Saturday August 21, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Wedowee First Baptist Church with Rev. Glen Bentley and Matt Browning officiating. Burial will follow in the Wedowee City Cemetery.
Mrs. Hanson passed away Wednesday August 18, 2010 at University of Alabama Hospital in Birmingham.
Mrs. Hanson is survived by her husband of 66 years, Kermit D. Hanson of Wedowee, two daughters Jan (husband Jerry) Browning of Wedowee, and Diane( husband Ken) Fender of Jasper, a son Phil (wife Nancy) Hanson of Carrollton, Ga., three sisters Hilda Gittings and Maurice Lee both of Wedowee, and Mary Nears of Mt. Pleasant, Tx., eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be nephews and a grandson.
Mrs. Hanson was born November 19, 1924 the daughter of Henry Milford and Charlotte Kitchens Bradley, she was a retired self employed beautician, and a member of First Baptist Church of Wedowee where she taught Sunday School for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and a brother.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home -Wedowee on Friday August 20, 2010 from 6 till 8 Pm. Mrs. Hanson will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services.
