Funeral services for Mary Nell Kirby Holloway Edmondson age
99 of Woodland will be held Wednesday March 16, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Rocky Branch
Baptist Church with Rev. Clayton Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the
adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Edmondson passed away Monday March 14, 2011 at Traylor's
Nursing Home.
She is survived by seven step-children, Jean Mitchell, Marie
Cline, Sarah Wilson, Cecil Edmondson, Rayford Edmondson, Elaine Blake and Penny
Nichols. A sister-in-law Alzada Kirby, four nieces Dorthy( Willie) Akins, Nancy
( Ronald) Foster, Loleta ( John) Fincher and Sharon Roberts. Six nephews James
( Hazel) Kirby, Harry Kirby, William (Elaine) Kirby, Willie ( Patty) Kirby,
James ( Melissa) Kirby and Willie B. Moon.
Mrs. Edmondson was born October 20, 1911 the daughter of
George W. and Claudia Henry Kirby. She was retired from Callaway Mills as a
spinner. She was a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. She was preceded in
death by her parents, two husbands, Elias Holloway and Whit Edmondson, two
brothers J.B. Kirby and Willie Caron Kirby.
The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home-
Wedowee on Tuesday March 15, 2011 from 5 till 8 PM. The body will lie in state
at the church one hour prior to services.
