Obituary Notice

Funeral services for Gregory Edward Brooks, Sr., age 60 of Wedowee

will be held Saturday May 21, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pine Grove Baptist Church,

Heflin with Bo Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining

cemetery.

Mr. Brooks passed away Thursday May 19, 2011 at Northeast

Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Family will be pallbearers.

Mr. Brooks is survived by wife Evangeline Anga Brooks of

Wedowee, a daughter Kimberly Lynn Brooks of Oxford, a son Gregory Edward

Brooks, Jr., four sisters Linda Baxter of Franklin, Ga, Janet Holmes of Louisiana,

Melba Hall of Valley, and Rena Faye Whaley of Valley, five brothers Ralph

Brooks of Wedowee, Doyle Brooks of Valley, Bo Brooks of Pell City, John Brooks

of Valley, and Tony Brooks of Roanoke, and one grandchild.

Mr. Brooks was born January 25, 1951 the son of Birsey D.

and Faye McCulley Brooks. He was a veteran of the United Sates Navy serving

during the Vietnam War. He was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home-

Wedowee on Friday May 20, 2011 from 5 till 8 PM. The body will lie in state at

the church one hour prior to services.
