Funeral services for Amos Sheppard age 74 of Wedowee will be held Tuesday June 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Benefield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Stephen Dedman officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.





Mr. Sheppard passed away Sunday June 5, 2011 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.





Mr. Sheppard is survived by a daughter Linda Sheppard Mull of Nicholson, Ga., two grandchildren, two sisters Letha Mae Sheppard of Wedowee and Clara Rush of Cragford, three brothers Andy Sheppard of Anniston, Clarence Sheppard of Opelika and James Sheppard of Roanoke.





Mr. Sheppard was born May 31, 1937 the son of Clifford William and Letha Grace Mulkey Sheppard. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the United States Army. He was retired from Walton Clothes as a presser. He was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Buddy Sheppard.





The family will receive friends on Monday June 6, 2011 from 5 till 8 PM at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee.
