CONNELL - Rosemarie, 78, of Wedowee, Alabama, passed away July 5, 2011 surrounded by her loving family at Memorial Medical Center. Rosemarie was born January 24, 1933 in Nanty Glo, daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Simmers. She is preceded in death by her first husband Frank Bezek, second husband John Everett Connell, brothers: Charles, Thomas, and James, and sister Mary Ann Cristando. Rosemarie was loving mother to: Dennis (Debbie) Connell, of Wedowee, Alabama; Doyce (Lynn) Connell, Bon Air, Georgia; Steve (Wanda) Connell, Oxford, Alabama; Donnie (Akela) Connell, Centerville, Georgia; and Tyrone (Jo) Connell, Aniston, Alabama. Also survived by her sisters Donna (Jim) Bracken, Croydon, Pa.; Margaret E. Shrift, New Germany and Bernice (Edward) Hurtack, of Ebensburg; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, along with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Never demanding a lot for herself, she was a loving and giving person. Rosemarie will always be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others. She was a retired elementary school teacher. She enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and crafts. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday at Holy Name Roman Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus, celebrant. Interment will follow in Alabama. Local arrangements by the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Ebensburg. "Hide me in the shadow of your wings. I in justice shall behold your face. On waking, I shall be content in your presence."
