Obituary Notice

Funeral services for James Lee Thacker age 69 of Heflin will be held Thursday August 25, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Pilgrims Rest Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Mr. Thacker passed away Tuesday August 23, 2011 at his residence.

Mr. Thacker is survived by his wife Sherry Akins Thacker of Heflin; a daughter Marsha Summerall of Lakeland, Fl; a stepdaughter Kandy Holloway of Heflin; a stepson Jonathan Hallmark of Anniston; four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jonathan Hallmark, Timothy Akins, Daniel Holloway, Shannon Baker, Greg East and Wayne Akins.

Mr. Thacker was born July 14, 1942 the son of J. P. and Nina Ann West Thacker. He was retired from Tyson Foods as a Maintenance Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and three brothers.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 24, 2011 at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee from 6 till 8 PM.
