Obituary Notice Funeral services for Leonard Pollard age 84 of Woodland will be held Sunday February 19, 2012 at 2:00 PM from Rocky Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Lendon Fields and Rev. Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Mr. Pollard passed away Friday February 17, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Pollard is survived by one daughter and son in law Brenda and Randy Third of Anniston; one sister Sue ( Jerry) Smith of Roanoke; one grandson Kevin ( Leslie) Third; one great grandson Brooks Third and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Rick Martin, Ricky Howel, Kevin Third, Issac Smith and Elijah Smith. The family would like to express special thanks to caregivers Debra Spratlin, Lisa Mitchum, Wanda McDaniel, Countryside Hospice and Dr. Michael Robinson. Mr. Pollard was born November 21, 1927 the son of Auby and Zula Stewart Pollard. He was retired from the Randolph County Road Department as a heavy machinery mechanic and a member of Rocky Branch Baptist Church. He was known for his vegetable gardens especially his tomatoes and watermelons. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 54 years Dolly Matthews Pollard, one sister Dorothy Harlin and one brother Denson Pollard. The family will receive friends at Benefield Funeral Home- Wedowee on Saturday February 18, 2012 from 5 till 8 PM. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:30 till 2:00 PM prior to services.
