Obituary Notice
Graveside service for James Ray Payne, age 76 of Hamilton, will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 28, 2012, from Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Barrett Holloway officiating. Benefield Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be brothers and nephews.
Mr. Payne died Sunday, March 25, 2012. He is survived by one sister, Louise Shelnutt of Rome, GA; three brothers, Johnnie (wife Shirley) Payne, Lamar (wife Brenda) Payne, Freddie (wife Jonnette) Payne all of Wedowee.
Mr. Payne was born May 30, 1935, the son of Calvin Lee and Duelalar Holloway Payne. He was of the Baptist faith and had worked for Handley Mills. Mr. Payne served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Payne is preceded in death by his parents.
